About Mardel Coppersafe®
Mardel Coppersafe® solution remains active for over one month in the aquarium. It is a safe, stable, non-staining concentrate that does not color aquarium water.
Be sure to add Mardel Coppersafe® solution to replacement water when water changes are made. This will maintain the therapeutic level of Coppersafe® solution.
Because Mardel Coppersafe® solution is so stable in water, partial water changes are the quickest way to remove it from the water.
The unique formulation of Mardel Coppersafe® solution maintains a total copper level of ~2.0ppm when used as directed. Copper test kits that measure chelated copper will help you to actively monitor copper levels when using Mardel Coppersafe® solution.
Chelated copper treatment for the infections of:
- Flukes (Gyrodactylus)
- Anchor worms
- Velvet/protozoan diseases
- Other external parasites
The use of a hospital tank is recommended.
It is always wise to check your water quality levels to ensure they are within their acceptable ranges before administering any water treatment.
No water changes, pH or temperature adjustments necessary if readings are in ideal range.
Maintain normal filtration and air.
Use 1/2 capful (2.5 mL) per 10 gallons of water.
Repeat as needed for not more than 5 days. It is suggested to always increase tank aeration during treatment to ensure an adequate oxygen supply for sick fish.
Switch off UV sterilizers during treatment. Should fish exhibit signs of distress neutralize the medication by using an aquarium dechlorinator, such as FritzGuard®, Fritz A.C.C.R. or Fritz Complete.
Follow the manufacturer’s directions for dosing.
Note: Not suitable for use with starfish or related species. Consult a veterinarian or fish expert for assistance in diagnosis of disease causing organisms and treatment options.
