With its red foot base and long, pink-tipped tentacles the Haitian Pink Tip Anemone adds a pop of color to any tank. These carnivores creatures use their long tentacles, that can reach up to 20 inches long, to capture and pull food into their mouth. The diet should include feedings of fish, mussels, shrimp, or other foods of this type. Their base can grow up to the size of a tennis ball and can live up to 80 years.
They like to bury themselves in the sand or hunker down into the cracks of the rock, but they will be constantly moving around your tank. They enjoy a high light and a moderate water flow and should be kept away from Clownfish, any other fish, and Red Leg Hermit Crabs because of their intense sting.
